    Need Help with few things

Okay I will give you the details and the problem!
I need help with this as it is annoying!

    Laptop- Acer Aspire 9300
    2.00Ghz , 2gb ram, 120 gb hd

    Now, here is my problem('s)

    ---
When I have my laptop running, and I am browsing internet or just doing stuff on the laptop, I will hear this noise for example : the noise you would hear when you plug in a usb plugin and windows detects it (that weird noise) but I hear a similar one to that which is very quite and nothing is plugged into my laptop, I have my sound turned on mute- but I hear this weird sound coming from the laptop similar to the description above.

It will randomly go while my laptop is on
maybe a few times here and there, and then maybe a hour without the sound it is completely random

I think it comes from the right side where the USB's+Fan+card reader are located but sound coming from inside the laptop like a hardware is detected that type of sound (remember this sound is coming randomly even when the sound is on mute)

    ----
    Problem 2

My card reader- I insert cards into it- but nothing gets detected
I goto "My Computer" and still nothing pops up- laptop does not even try to detect it when I insert them or I would see it in the right corner near the time and date- saying its detecting it or whatever it says lol

    How can I fix this?
I have my card reader driver installed and it says its working properly
Do I have the wrong driver installed? or what is wrong?

-Also do you think this could be the problem of the sound I hear?
I have no clue on these 2 problems and would like some help :)

Sorry for taking your time reading all this- just that sound is really annoying (even tho its quite)

    Issues

the only thing that comes to mind on that sound since you are using a laptop is the bleep that the battery alarm would make when the battery is getting low that would come form the motherboard mounted speaker not the actual speakers for normal sound stuff.

the memory card reader not sure on that one I would try to uninstall it completely from device manager and there is probably something in ad remove programs for that as well reboot and let windows redetect it download the driver/software if need be to reinstall it.

This sounds like the same problem this guy was having...Strange "boing" noise which would probably mean the two(your problems) are connected so I would try what computersplus suggested about that.Your memory card reader that is.

    Your Problem

your problems are probably related to each other the memory card reader is probably whats trying to connect causing the noise
