PC doesn't recognise my Sony Walkman. I get a small balloon saying a USB device has malfunctioned and nothing more, I've tried upgrading the firmware however it get a something called a Code 10, saying the device had reported errors and Windows had cancelled the connection.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium and it's a Sony Walkman NWZ-A729. | My System Specs |

Just to let you know Windows7 can recognise a Walkman, although I'm unable to say why you're encountering difficulties. I've got a NWZ-A818 model and it gets detected perfectly under devices and hardware, and works beautifully. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom built machine OS W7 x64 CPU Intel Q9300 2.5Ghz Quad LGA775 (Would like Q9650) Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3R (F6 Bios) Memory 4Gb OCZ Gold 1,333Mhz Graphics Card Palit HD4850 O/C Sonic 512Mb DDR3, Dual DViD's Sound Card Azalia to twin Samson 50w Studio Monitors Monitor(s) Displays Twin Dell (E-IPS) U2311H 23.6" Screens Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz Keyboard Cherry PS/2 custom model Mouse Lenovo USB laser "Thinkpad" Mouse PSU OCZ 600w Case Lian-Li PC8 acoustifoamed' aluminium tower Cooling Scythe 140mm Zipang Hard Drives Crucial M4 SSD, archives on twin Western Digital Caviar Black WD2002FAEX, 2TB, 7200rpm HDD's, Samsung Ritemaster CD/DVD Burner... Windows 7 recognizes my NWZ-S545 just fine. The only confusing bit is this....if I remove the USB cable from the computer, which I do sometimes because I have an AC USB charger for it, then the next time I connect it to the computer, it reinstalls it as a second Walkman. It hasn't been a problem, I just remove the previous image, but it's strange that it happens. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. If not recognized, it needs a driver. By driver do you mean Firmware? Because I tried updating the latest version however it kept saying there was no device connected to the PC. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 CPU Intel E2200 Motherboard MSI P35 Diamond Memory 2GB OCZ Special Ops Graphics Card MSI 8600GTX OS Windows 7 CPU Intel E2200 Motherboard MSI P35 Diamond Memory 2GB OCZ Special Ops Graphics Card MSI 8600GTX PC doesn't recognise my Sony Walkman. problems?
