Chicony web camera doesn't work on toshiba satellite a3

    Hi,

The chicony web camera doesn't work on my toshiba satellite a350-12d and windows 7 64 bit..

I always get different errors like
    "graph render fail"
"the device is locked by another program"
    etc..

I tried many things and look on a lot of posts but nothing works. I have installed many drivers and programs to solve it but nothing works.
at first the camera was ok but now nothing seems to help and the camera is down..

    can you help me??

    Thanks!

Start - Search - type "device manager" - look for either your web camera in Imaging Devices, or unknown devices - right click - properties - details tab - select hardware id's in the drop down box
Copy and paste back all the info into a reply to this post, and we'll see if we can find a driver for you :)

    the datails..

    USB\VID_04F2&PID_B008&REV_0335&MI_00
    USB\VID_04F2&PID_B008&MI_00

That's the only thing under Chicony web camera - hardware ids.

    Thanks.

I don't know if you know but any way, this chicony problem with toshiba and many other brands is very common but I just can't find a solution and I think that's the same problem with everybody else..

Have you tried installing the latest Chicony Webcam driver software from your Toshiba product home page?
    latest is version 1.7.231.1126
Download it, right click the file - select compatibility tab and check the following settings

then hit ok and install as usual

I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop that I upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 x64. Make sure when you download the driver from Toshiba's website that you click the plus, because there were 2 released and one works and one doesn't. Make sure you download the one with the latest date.

That's a Vista driver or it's good for Windows 7 also?
I'm downloading it right now, hope for good.

Maybe can you give me the exact files/drivers you have been using?
