Parallel Port Solution Needed

I just build a new PC and need to connect my printer, which is a very good but older HP Laserjet 4000N with no USB connector.

Which is the best approach---

use a parallel to usb cable - has anyone used these with success?

install a PCI parallel port card in the PC

get a print server hub and connect it via ethernet to the home network instead of sharing it from my pc.

Thanks!

By far, this is your best option. When connected by a print server, the printer can be centrally located anywhere in the building and not tethered to a host computer and eating up desk space. This allows everyone on your network to print without being dependent on a host system that must be up and running and connected.

Looks like Newegg has four.

HOWEVER, you said 4000N - that "n" means network so that printer should already have a built-in HP JetDirect print server installed. Look for an Ethernet port on the back - you may already be good to go.
