Windows 7: Stuck at bios hp logo screen

Cant press any f buttons, my keyboard lights flicker on when the screen comes on and if i press setup it says entering setup but never does. No other button will give me any results. Now my gpu fan has busted so ive been using a tabletop fan to blow air at my pc(worked surprisingly better than the tiny gpu fan) i took my tv tuner off a while ago so i could look at my gpu fan and never put it back on. Today i found my coaxial and decided to put my tv tuner back in. I turned off my pc then popped it in. next time i booted up my pc i would get these problems. Ive tried taking the tuner out again to no avail. Im still under warrenty from hp at least until march. Is there anything i can do i can usually motor through most of these kind of problems but im stumped. Please help me.

You'd get a better response if you complete your system specifications (you'll find the option under the User CP on the forum top bar...) fully...

When you blew air at the laptop it may have loosened/cracked/blown off something. Also you may have damaged something or discharged ESD. I'd send it to HP for repair. You can use the drivers guide in my sig to find out your hardware and update it when you get it working.

Easy - try a replacement GPU. Even though you can build a much better PC, put in a 4350 from ATI, such as Sapphire. If that works, great. If not the motherboard may have issues. Is everything connected properly from the PSU? Can you also possibly try a Linux live cd such as Ubuntu before (if) you buy a card.

yeah im a big linux fan ill save up for a new gpu soon im so glad i just got a 1tb external hdd backed up everything

GPU for games or desktop?

Games:

1) 4890 - not too expensive but no DirectX11 - chose this as DirectX 11 is a superset of DirectX10/10.1. So I'll lose some features until I upgrade.

2) 5870 - no comment necessary

Desktop:

1) 4350 - Great for movies

2) A newer DirectX11 card that is the same as the 4350 but with support for DirectX11 - you'll have to wait.

gaming but i dont really need to expect that much from it my old video card wasnt all that great but it could play any new game you threw at it and play them at an okay fps

Hey Andy,

You might have loosen something when you opened it up. I suggest that you go back and make sure everything is nice, snug and secure, just to be sure. One are you should check especially is where your keyboard is plugged into. I suggest fully taking it out and giving it a good snap back in (the cable that is).

Try doing that, and let us know how it goes.
