Nice :) Affordable build with room to upgrade
thanks buddy.
Can someone suggest possible gradation options to this machine.. will do the additions slowly...
Initially will like to start with a display card and a LCD monitor around 20in.....
Instead of suggesting individual components... Can I suggest you have a read through this? : Best Graphics Cards For The Money: January 2010
That way you can pick a card that will suit your budget What do you want to do with the card? HDTV? Gaming?
What's your budget for a monitor?
You are aware that the CPU you bought is obsolete - the LGA 775 is now outdated. I would have gone with a Phenom X4 955 - the AM3 socket is still going strong. Same for DDR2 memory and the P45 chipset.
budget for card & monitor's around 250 to 300 usd. main use will be media .
& as far as my set up being outdated, it's too late for me to bother about that.. now i'll be using this machine for couple of years.... so suggest if you can for this set up..
Yeah, but not everybody really has a need for the latest tech. I'm a fairly hardcore computer user and I built a Core 2 Quad setup in July on 775...and for my needs, it's a beast of a machine. Build some test boxes at work in August that I used C2D, and C2Q's in on 775 mobos and they have been fastastic.
I generally don't go for top of the line..but rather like to stay somewhat modest and just replace the machine with a new build every 2 years. And savings in some areas like CPU's can be put into other areas....like my file server, or in faster hard drives....which make far more of a difference for me than going with a faster CPU.
There is no need to benchline everybody else's PC against yours...unless you do the exact same things, have the same budget and have to meet the same objectives.
ASSY was good & its working nice ,Drivers updated & Sys Image made....Any issues with the build? I'd install the chipset first from the motherboard's manfacturer download page, and then rest. Use the drivers guide in my sig. Then image the system, just in case.
want to replace my existing CRT with a 20 to 22inch LCD & a decent card to add some juice to the graphics...in near future when budget permits will add some more RAM and a good set of speakers......
What is this file server, is it same as network Server(NAS)............like my file server,
