    Try going into device manager, clicking on the arrow next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers, and try to search for driver software for each one.

    Re-install your MBoard chipset drivers from the driver CD that shipped with the machine...
    Re-boot.

    Maybe there are older drivers in the hidden devices that block. Open an elevated Command Prompt and type or paste:

    SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1

    then hit Enter. Then type:

    devmgmt.msc

    and hit Enter. Now you are in Device manager. Click on the View tab and go to Show hidden devices. Now you will see all the hidden USB ports. Uninstall all the drivers (also the ones where nothing is atttached) that you do not absolutely need and reboot. What you do with this operation is to delete all legacy drivers that might linger around and block things. It may be a long shot, but one never knows what is hidden on the system.
