From microsoft regarding HP printer, although not your model, it is HP.

HP officejet d145 printer will not install under Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

After you have uninstalled the driver and it does not appear in devices and printers. Turn off the computer and boot up, before trying to install, again.

Didn't you receive a CD with the printer. If so, use that and everything will be installed properly.

First of all i want to thank you for sticking with me and helping me solve this issue.

Ok i downloaded the Hp Printing Diognostic Utility from
Select software and drivers HP Photosmart C4640 All-in-One Printer - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

once i ran it it showed that everything was good and perfectly running.

Where a problem occurs is that when i click print on a document it sends the information to the printer but the printer does not do anything. The printing queue is always 0.

The printer works on my desktop which is running Windows Xp and it also ran perfectly on my old laptop which was running Windows Xp too.

Before it printed a test page but now since i try to print a test page nothing happens.

Just to clear one thing up it does not ask me to reinstall over and over but it asks that i need to restart windows over and over.

I did recieve a CD with the printer but when i install using that CD a message comes saying that my laptop does not meet the system requirements.

Turn off the computer and boot up. Do not restart, actually shut it down, then boot.

Type services in search. In services look for print spooler, make sure it is on and set to started and automatic.

Did not ask, are you on wireless?

Another HP printer, will not work with Win 7. Each person sounds like its you talking to me.

Printer is installed but nothing Prints - HP Support Forum

For your specific model c 4640

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...roduct=3831669

Try the self test that is mentiond. That will help locate the problem.

I think the above url is the most important. They give step by step instructions on how to fix your problem. If it still does not work, we may have to assume that we have the same problem as shown in the other URL; it does not work with Windows 7 64bit.

I am beginning to think this may be an HP problem, as it states in one of the articles that I gave you (for another HP model).

The CD may have been correct.

I will try to find specific problems for a wireless connection.

Are you using 64 bit? If so, I can bet that is the problem. The CD, was probably correct, initially.

My feelings regarding the solution of this problem have changed. I feel that it is not compatible with 64 bit window 7. This is what we do. Make a system restore point, in case things take a bad turn.

Uninstall the driver. Download the driver for Vista. Download to your doucments folder. Right click on the driver in documents, select compatiblity mode. Now install, That should work. If it does not work, try the same thing with XP. Turn off your computer, after installed, but before using.

If things get worse just use the system restore. I have high hopes for this one.

Final advice, if you should return. Now that everything is running perfectly, make a system restore point and a system image. If you update them regularly, you can always go back to an earlier time when things were working properly.
