    Keyboard Problem

Hello there, I've used my keyboard which has extra keys like Volume +/-, media next/back button on my Windows 7 RTM 32 bit. It had worked perfectly until 31/12/09. On 1/1/10 the buttons stopped working for no apparent reason and its not the keyboard's fault because its working on my laptop without any problem.

Is this one of Windows 7 bug? Any solutions regarding this matter?

Btw, the keyboard is a wireless plug and play and doesn't comes with a driver so don't bother suggesting to look for driver.

    Hello,

Perhaps a System Restore will help. System Restore

I would shut down and try another USB port. See if that works.

If not, I would "roll back" the driver. Maybe WU gave you a bad one on 1/1/10

See if you have the option in "device manager" to roll back.

    just some thoughts. Good luck.

=/ There is no roll back option in the Device Manager option since the drivers are not updated and there is no new drivers available to be updated also.

Its a powerlogic r5000 wireless desktop set.

I see someone with the same user name was having this problem back in September.

    Keyboard Problem

Was this you also? Has it been this long since it was working?

You might need to replace it if you can't adjust it in control panel / keyboard

Yea it was me, but once after reformatting windows , I was able to use it since then but problem occurred since 1/1/10. I don't want to resolve reformatting my pc since I have lots of stuff in it and buying new keyboard would be a wastage since this is working fine on other places.

The thing that caught my attention is how come it stopped working after the new year. I didn't install anything in the period of time / did not update Windows, it just stopped working.

if your keyboard came with it's own config utility i'd check that.

Ahh, I see. Sounds like this keyboard is hard to get working in Windows 7.

I assume it has to do with the generic driver but I don't know where to go from there.

Maybe you should find "keyboard" in the "device manager" and un-install the driver, then reboot and let it detect again. That may work.
