    Internal Wireless NIC Won't Resume from Sleep


    My Win7 Ultimate desktop PC was working fine but in the last few days has developed a problem where the internal PCI wireless network card (Realtek 8185-based) will not restart after sleep mode. When I enter Device Manager it is not listed, but if I "Scan for hardware changes" it gets found and reinstalled so that it's working again.

    Any suggestions on how I can get this back to working normally? Thanks.

    Realtek 8187 wireless driver stops working after sleep mode

    From MS, about Vista. Since 7 is essentially Vista, under the hood, this would apply to you to. Maybe not the definitive solution, but a clear road on where to look.

Since replacing my old HDD with a SSD, Windows will no longer resume from sleep (it hibernates just fine). It goes to sleep seemingly fine, but when it's time to wake up, the system appears to resume as expected, but the screen remains black. The system must then be shut down by holding the power...
Every time I put my computer to sleep or hibernate and wake it up, the computer resumes to a screen stating "Windows failed to shut down correctly" A recent hardware or software change might be the cause and I'm asked to choose how to restart.Quite similar to the screen I would get after a crash....

Hello all, I'm dumbfounded on this one. Here's what I know... I have Win7 Home Premium, and am using it on a Media Center PC. When I put the PC to sleep, sometimes it will wake up properly, sometimes it won't. When it does not wake up from sleep...I have to manually press the power button...
