Windows 7: GM5643e to Win 7HP and TV card doesnet work?

It appears the driver has not been transfered or is not compatable with windows 7. 32 bit Vista system upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium and now the CD drive and tv card niether work. Gateway wants to charge me a ton to get me the drivers, does anyone know here how I can get and install the drivers on the computer. I tried the automatic deal for it to update the driver but seems like it doesnt even know what the card is to even look for it. Any Suggestions.....NEED HELP

download the latest tv driver (6.2.100.12) and try to install it in compatiblity mode with vista if it wont install normally - this will resolve the OS mismatch. Try the other driver there if this one doesnt work.

To install a driver OR program in compatibility mode - right click the setup.exe file - click properties - click compatibility - check run in compatibility with vista/xp etc - check run as administrator - leave the rest blank. Start setup.exe and install.

Overview

This document describes the steps necessary to install the Windows Vista 32-bit/64-bit ViXS Pure TV driver for the computer models listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section below.


Identification

If you have a computer listed in the Applicable Part Numbers section and are running Windows Vista, install this driver.


Installation

After you have downloaded and double-clicked the D20271-001-001.exe file, needed files self-extract and copy into the C:\Cabs\D20271-001-001 folder on the hard drive.

1. From the Start menu in the Start Search field, type: C:\Cabs\D20271-001-001\vista\Setup.exe, and then press ENTER.

2. In the User Account Control dialog box, click Allow.

3. Follow all onscreen instructions to complete the installation.


Removal

1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel.

2. With Control Panel in Category View, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Device Manager.

3. In the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.

4. In Device Manager, click the plus sign (+) in front of the type of device you wish to remove the drivers from, and then double-click the specific device to open the Properties dialog box.

5. In the Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall.

6. In the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK.


Troubleshooting

If you have difficulty during or after the driver installation, follow the removal procedure, and then re-install the drivers.

One thing about it, is it labels it as a "Other Device" and not in hardware and sound devices"...How can I change that or does it need to be changed?

If it works after installing the driver your laughing thats all that counts.

Yeah it updated last night eidently somehow and loaded the driver, very wierd, anyway back up and running. Thanks and God bless
