Winodws 7 64 Bit & 4GB of Ram

Hi guys,

No doubt you get this all the time, but i have an issue - i ahve tried google and nothing has come up.

When i bought my laptop it came with 3GB of ram, today i bought a 2GB stick to replace the 1GB... to make it a total of 4GB of ram.

Now i have installed it and all is good, but in the my computer properties it says 4GB of ram (2.87GB useable) why can't i use all 4 GB of ram????

I hope you understand what i mean. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit edition, so i should be able to use all the ram.....

Hope you guys can help me and thanks for all of your help so far

Cheers,

Cohen

Maybe some of that RAM is being used by your graphics card?

In the bios it is set to 128MB for the graphics card.... in the Task Manager, it says 2.9GB Total.
