Windows 7: 5.9 rating for a 10,000rpm drive?

19 Jan 2010   #21

Windows 7 Professional x64

That score coincides with the technology of the drive. Mechanical drives will always be on the same level with one another in terms of performance regardless of whether they are 5400rpm or 10,000 rpm. There are noticable differences between them, but if you look at the overall picture a raptor is an incremental upgrade and not revolutionary. My Intel G2 160gb SSD scores a 7.7 but my drive is a revolutionary upgrade not an improvement of an old technology.

Has anyone had a problem getting a Windows Experience Index rating? I keep trying to get one and it won't work. The progress bar moves about 5% of the way and then stops. I have closed all running programs and let it sit for an hour. Task manager shows WinSAT.exe at 0% CPU usage. Any ideas? ...
