A2DP Passkey problem

I have a GE 99004 for streaming music to my sound system. I have a Sony VAIO, to which I've added a Belkin bluetooth adapter. The adapter will communicate with my cell phone. It will detect the A2DP device and windows 7 thinks it pairs with it, but it doesn't prompt me for a passkey, even though the device needs one. Is there any way to "force" Windows 7 to use a passkey?
