Mouse/keyboard freeze when switching back to Win7 (KVM)

    Hi,

I have one machine with Win7 x64 installed and one machine with Ubuntu x32. Using a Belkin Flip USB KVM switch to change between the 2. This was working until recently - now when I switch back to Win7 the mouse and keyboard freeze and the only solution is to reboot. I can switch back to Ubuntu where everything is fine and dandy.

Had a look at the event viewer and under System I can see some messages which may be related, e.g.:

The driver \Driver\HidUsb failed to load for the device USB\VID_1532&PID_0101&MI_00\7&7cff8c3&0&0000.

I have since bought a Digitus USB KVM Switch (with audio) and I get the exact same thing. Starts up fine, switch to Ubuntu fine, switch back to Win7 and the mouse and keyboard freeze. When I have the device manager open, I can see some yellow triangles next to some of the USB input devices.

Anyone have any idea how I can resolve this?

Make sure you have proper drivers...?

There are no drivers available for this KVM switch. It looks like I am not the only one with this problem:

Keyboard & mouse not recongnized on KVM switch

Seeing that both the Belkin Flip KVM and Digitus don't work, surely there must be some way to make them work by tweaking the OS?
