    W7 on Dell XPS720

    Hi all,
Time to go W7. I am planning to install 64 bit W7 as dual boot, keeping my current Vista X86 on my Raid 0 disks. W7 will be installed on a SSD. I am new to both W7, 64 bit and SSD, so I am sure, I will have a lot of questions as I go.

I ran the Upgrade Advisor and did not get any warnings that was really concerning.

First major issue is that I notice that XPS720 is not on Dell's list on W7 compatible computers. Anyone with experience who can tell if this is a real problem or not?

Next, I have been able to find 64 bit W7 nVidia drivers for the chipset, GPU and sound and 64 bit Vista drivers for network adapter, TV card, monitor and MediaShield. Missing anything? Any problems, you think, using Vista drivers under W7?

If it worked in vista it should work in win 7. the vista drivers can be used but you need to install them in compatibility mode. to do that simply right click the install>properites>compatibility and check vista.

Let us know if you need help

Have ordered W7 Ultimate and a new SSD to install it on. Hopefully they will come this week, and I will be able to install next weekend.
