DVD-rom/burner

    DVD-rom/burner


    I have to DVD drives in my PC they are both lite-on the burner is a LH-20A1P set to slave the other one is a basic rom drive set to master it is a SOHD-167T i am running w7 x64 yes i have the connectors in the right slot when I open the media center to play a DVD it says "Windows Media Center cannot detect a DVD in the drive please insert a DVD in the Drive" are my drive not compatible? they dont even show up in my computer thanks in advance

    I would reboot go into bios and see if drives show up, if they dont then they may not be connected properly, have they ever worked in this machine?

    they worked when i had xp

    p4 HT 3.6
    nvidia 6600
    asus p5gd2x motherboard
    w7 64-bit

    So are drives showing in bios
    Are they visible in device manager
    Are they visible in My Computer

    im extremely rusty when it comes to my PC know how
    it has been quite some time since i have taken a look in my BIOS but if the primary master & slave are supposed to be myrom drives than it says they are not compatible
