    Kernel-mode printer trouble

I've got a Xerox Phaser 3117 printer. My computer with Windows 7 Home Premium won't install the driver for it, though it finds it and attempts an installation. The problem is in a policy that blocks kernel-mode drivers. In Win7 Pro I would go to administrative tools and turn this policy off, but here this option isn't present. Also, I've found a list of registry keys that are usually edited with the tool missing in Home Premium. Here is what I needed: HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Printers!KMPrintersAreBlocked. But it's present in "Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, and Windows 2000 operating systems only". So what should I do? Install a new OS in order to be able to use my new printer?

I managed it by using a driver from Phaser 3124 and "Add a printer" wisard. Also, I'm waiting for comments from Xerox Hotline on this situation (Phaser 3117 officially supports Windows 7)
