    General PSU question

How long is the average "burn in" period for a power supply?

I have never heard of that. I have used about 20 PSUs and never had a problem just hooking them up. If you get a good one you should never need to worry about such a thing.

    Good luck

I've also never really heard of a break-in period for a PSU.

    I have heard of a burn-out, but never of a burn-in.

I think you are referring to the life expectancy of a power supply and that depends on the quality and the type of usage and demand you will place on a psu.
If you are using an under powered psu for intense purposes expect 8-10,000 hours of life, maybe less, maybe more. If you have a higher wattage psu you can expect double the life.
