How to speed up my hard drive

    Hi Guys,
I was wondering about something. I just built a brand new system and my windows 7 experience index is all pretty high 7.4 to 7.6 all around but for my hard drive witch has a poor 5.9 and gives me an overall note of 5.9. Is putting an other hard drive of the same make and making it raid going to be any help to speed up things or is my only solution would be to replace the hard drive itself? And overall would it really change anything?

    Thanks.

Raid 0 will give you a speed boost noticable in every day use, but not noticable in that index score, useless though it might be. The best way to increase that index for HDD is to throw it out and put in an SSD.

SSD drives are the only way to get that number boosted up from 5.9. Even RAID arrays with 10K spinning drives usually get a score of 5.9.

5.9 is a good score for a standard 72K or 10K HDD. I also agree that an SSD is your only option.
