    Windows was unable to format

I just got an external encasement for my 320GB SATA HDD. Everything was fine when i connected it. I accessed data, copied it , moved it etc. But when i wanted to formati it, it told me it was unable to do so. Its an NTFS, but when it told me that windows wasnt able to format it became RAW. It still shows as an HDD but i can't see how much free space it's got. Tried doing with dos, but it told me some weird shit and aborted the format. I managed do to a quick format after a restard..it took 10 seconds. I tried without a quick format and it failed again. Any ideas? And I'm positive it's not the hard drive-s fault. This partition was my system drive,if that's of any help. The other partition works just fine( as in the second partition of my external HDD). Also, storage manager says that the drive is healthy.

It says it's unable to load disc access driver and wants me to try starting it again. Reinstalled 2 times redownloaded 2 times and no change. Though i have no problem with access. The ExtHDD is connected via USB,if that's any help.

using partition wizard did you try Open the program>select wizard>partition recovery wizard>next to continue>select the disk you cant access>choose full scan disk>wait until the scan finishes and it should find your deleted partition ?

after that close the program>go on to right click computer\disk management and assign a letter to the partition\disk just recovered ?

I tried a different interface (it was connected via USB, i tried SATA) and it worked. There're no problems now. Tnx to all for your help.
