new reconized drive

After my successful OEM/build, I have noticed that I have a new piece of hardware listed in my computer tab. It's a floppy disk drive labeled as (A). I do not have one and the OEM for that matter either. After going back through my mobo manual I found and see in the main menu section 2.3.3 Legacy Diskette A [1.44M, 3.5 in.]. Then says: Sets the type of floppy drive installed. configuration options; [disable] [360l. 5.25 in] a couple of others styles/sizes, including 1.44 and 2.88. So what gives?

Have you disabled the Diskette drive in BIOS?

You should be able to set floppy in bios as disabled and it will go away

Ok, I got that part but what's go me stumped is why is it picking it up in the first place when there is no floppy drive installed.

Windows is picking up that your mobo has a Floppy drive controller.

Exactly. Disabling Floppy drive from BIOS should get rid off this issue.

I understand now. The mobo manual doesn't explain that at all. It just gives you options to choose from. Thanks everyone.
