SATA III on OLD AMD Question

I have a problem, I need to temporarly get a Sata III installed in a AMD Athlon 64+ 4000+, when it is installed the computer doesn't boot when it's not installed (attached to the motherboard SATA port) the computer boots fine, my guess is that the motherboard can't handle these types of SSD, right or wrong ?

When you have it plugged in it may be changing the boot order in the bios.
Have it plugged in and go into your bios and check your boot order and make sure your disk with the os is the boot device.

There should be no problem with the SSD. It has a standard Sata interface.

How did you get the Sata3 capability - with a PCI-e card? Not all systems can boot from that.

I suggest you attach your SSD to a normal Sata2 port on the mobo and see what happens. There will be very little performance difference.

I got it working, and the task complete. Migrating everything to another machine at this stage.
