I tried with the registry and it didn't seem to change anything.

I tried different option but nothing seem to change.

I only increased mousespeed to '2' and it seems to be faster (less of the tracking pad covered to cross screen), but I haven't made any measurements so I could be imagining it...

you need a better mouse..
get a Logitech G9 - it gives you masses of control over what the normal OS settings provide..

just check the features available..

That's good advice in some situations, for sure. I already have another Gigabtyte mouse that lets me choose between 800 and 1600 dpi (8 inc. delivery from Play.com) but when using my laptop, it's sometimes more convenient to use the touchpad.
