    Phantom Drive showing in Computer

Somehow, I've ended up with a phantom local disk "Q" of 0 bytes in (My) Computer. It does NOT show in Device Manager nor does it show in Disk Management. Even 3rd party partitioning software does not show it. It is not my card reader (that is removable drive F). I somehow had system restore turned off so that is not an option. I've uninstalled several software applications around the time I noticed it and it's still there.

Does anyone know a registry edit or other method of removing a "phantom disk" that cannot be accessed?

I figured it out. The phantom drive was installed when MS Office 2010 Beta was installed. Removing the program removes the phantom drive if anyone else gets in this situation. I have no idea why the program needed to install a ghost drive.

Wow ! Thanks ! I have the same situation - Office 2010 Beta and a "Q" drive. Now I know why it's there.

Thanks again ! It was driving me nuts.

You're welcome! Apparently, it doesn't install in every configuration, just some. Hopefully, they'll solve this with the final release.
