i do not bother with fry's for the fact that they advertise these kind of low prices on cpus, mobos, and cpu / mobo combs all the time and they will actually have one maybe two in the store. it is just their way to get you into the store.

This essentially a laptop that stands upright. If you want to change anything in it, you are faced with the same problems as in a laptop.
true, but with those specs, one wouldn't need to upgrade it for quite a while

This is a charade. I would not buy an open box. Who knows what they've done with it.

open box is what your pc shops use. it is what you see lined up one after another in the pc shops display cases. open box / white box the same thing, just cheaper than the retail box.

however, they're still charging me the same price as a new one, the same $56

that may be, however as the one post states newegg is 99 for the retail box. so is zipzoomfly and tigerdirect. i can tell you from experience with newegg if they had that in the white box the most they would knock off from retail is maybe 20 dollars making it 79. so if it is what you want go for it. again make sure before you order it that you can take it to the store either for a refund or store credit. with new egg and white it is store credit.
