Just a quick reply to my reply...if I go to "Services" and select "TabletServiceWacom" and click on "restart this service" it seems to bring it back for that session.

I've put the problem to Wacom and if I receive a solution, I'll post it here.

    Problems too

Hi Everyone, my cintiq 12wx stopped working as well. I can still use it as a monitor but it's not accepting any inputs.

The strange thing is that it seems to work fine when I have to enter my password to log in but after that point, it stops working.

I updated to the latest Windows 7 drivers. I tried restarting the TabletServiceWacom properties... It still doesn't work.

    I have Windows 7 x64.

    Anyone have any other ideas?

I have Win7 x64 and a Wacom 12wx tablet giving me the same error message- what I did which seems to work for me is go to Control Panel>Tablet PC Settings>under Display, click Setup, and just hit Enter to go through and tell Windows there is no pen capable monitor on your system. then OK out of it. Soon as I did this, for me the Wacom worked like a champ again.

    Fix involving msconfig

Had the same problem with my Cintiq 12WX not working after restarting. It didn't start doing this until about a month after installing Windows 7. I'm not sure what the trigger was but I think it may have had something to do with me playing around with the tablet features in Windows 7 to see if I liked it or not, so I suspected that's what was interfering.

Anyway, this fix worked for me:

Reinstall the Wacom driver again so the tablet works (no need to uninstall the driver, in fact I'm not even sure if this step is necessary). Load msconfig, go to the Services tab, find the "Tablet PC Input Service" (sorting the services alphabetically will help you find it easier), and then hit the checkbox to disable it. Restart. Tablet should work.

Of course if you actually use the tablet PC features then this won't be the fix for you, but it's straightforward, got rid of the offending service, and also removed some features that got in the way.
