How to uninstall a printer that's not visible in device

Like the title said. It's a HP deskjet 720c on Windows 7 home premium 64x. Thep irnter itself works great, for instance in office-word i can choose the printer with all it's properties and so on. But it is NOT visible in devices window. How to get rid of it? I want to uninstall and after that install it again, and hope it will be visible in devices after new installation.

so how to uninstall a printer thats installed but not visible?

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Is it not viewable in Devices and printers, or Device manager?

Just a thought

You might want to reinstall the printer so that it does appear and then uninstall it again.

reinstalling won't work, i tried that. The result is now that i still don't see the printer in "printers and devices" except when i want to print in for instance word or excel, than i see 2 HP deskjets! (one with (copy 1) behind it). So i don't have an opperutnity to uninstall, but installing again will result in more and more copies of the same printer.

I don't have a solution, but I did make the same scenario occur...

It was permissions... I was trying to configure the printer to allow only a specific group in our domain to use it... I removed all existing permissions... added our Domain Admins group... and the group for the printer use... and after I saved the properties... poof... no more printer in the list...

trying to re-add the printer showed that the printer was there... as windows said I could not add it cause it already existed...

Hope this helps some...

I did not find a resolution, but I also wiped the machine for other reasons... so I didn't have that problem anymore...

Windows 7 premium 64bit and 32bit

I work in a school and we print to copiers with superhero names so everyone can keep them straight. It seems like a dumb idea, but it actually worked so whatever. Either way, I had a similar issue and I found that I changed one of my other printers(Wonder Woman) to use the port created by the problem printer (Storm) installer. When I would right click the printer with the bad port (Wonder Woman) I could access the properties for both Storm and Wonder Woman. When I corrected the port issues both printers showed up again. This was using Kyocera copiers, but if you have another printer set to use a default HP custom port from the installer I imagine it would work the same since they usually have something to do with the MAC address and Windows is smart enough (or dumb enough depending on your point of view) to think it's the same printer. I hope that helps.
