    Re-format SSD / Fresh Install

I have searched a bit to find the best way to do this - I have recently installed an Intel SSD 25M series drive as a boot drive to my pc. I ordered a new MB/Proc/Ram this afternoon and want to reformat/reinstall everything from scratch.

Everywhere I have read states that just a quick format of the SSD gives worse performance than out of the box. My firmware is fully updated, and i checked the TRIM command to ensure that Windows7 x64 turned it on (which it has) - and everything is running great.

HDD Erase was recommended on some forums to put the SSD back to the initial state in which it was purchased.

I just need some help / advice on how the best way to go about this would be.

    Thanks ahead of time,
    Kine

The HDD erase utility will give you the best performance as it will reset all of the sections of the hard drive and make it writeable without any delay.

Since you have TRIM and it works, you shouldn't have to do this. Although, it's probably what I would do if I were starting from scratch. The HDD erase function took about 30-60 seconds if I recall correctly.
