    help. my computer wont recognize my cd drive.


    i recently installed a windows xp operating system down from windows 7 which i had before. but it wont recognize the cd drive. i have a compaq presario v5000 and the drive is a toshiba. it worked fine before but it would not recognize so i restored to previous dates. but now since i formated everything i cant restore. please help.

    av tried
    - start > run > sysdm.cpl
    - click on "Hardware" tab
    - click on "Device Manager"
    - click on "Action" menu
    - then click on "Scan for Hardware Changes"

    and av tried to copy the code
    indows Registry Editor Version 5.00
