U3 Flash Drive Operations
I have a SanDisk Cruzer mini flash drive that I got with the intent of using for ReadyBoost, but since that didn't work out, I pulled it. This has me now assessing it value to me for other purposes. The thing that comes to mind, is that it seems that I recall a forum discussion, long ago and on another forum, about running Opera from a flash drive, for both portability and speed.
Pondering this, I got to wondering how well this would work, even with the drive's U3 functions, because it would seem that for the broswer to function properly, it would need to have appropriate registry keys in place, and paths directed toward it's folder located in /users/username/App Data/Local and Roaming. There was a time when the user had a choice about whether these files and folders would be located as described, or within it's own program directory, but that option no longer appears during installation of the browser.
Does U3 handle these issues automatically, or does it require something special to work?
