Windows 7: Sata hard drive power line interface

Sata hard drive power line interface

my used hard drive is the IDE power cord interface ( 4-pin). Now the hard drive had bad, and I want to buy a sata power interface. My motherboard has sata interface, but I don't know how many pin the sata hard drive interface to connect the power supply interface. Could I use my old power supply?

Hi Rae and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

You can get adapters that will allow you to connect drives with the newer SATA power interface with PSUs that only provide the older Molex connectors. Have a look here:
