    Bluetooth with Windows 7

O.K., I used bluetooth when I first got my HP DV7, so I know it works, but I haven't used it in a few weeks. I have done some tweaks and stuff, and now when I wanted to use bluetooth again I can't get the stack to open up, I tried HP wireless assistant where I used to be able to turn WiFi or Bluetooth on and off and now it only shows the wifi. Anybody know WTF is going on.

Have you tried updating your network adapter drivers?

Ummm ... what tweaks exactly pal ? Maybe try completely uninstalling and then re-installing the blue tooth ... minus the "tweaks" just to see if you can resort to a basic connectivity.

As far as I knew the tweaks had nothing to do with the bluetooth, and as for the drivers I tried the WidComm ones from the HP site and also reinstalled the HP Wireless Assistant with no results. It's like the bluetooth isn't there anymore.

    Resolution to Issue?

    Hey D,

Did you get this issue resolved with your HP DV7. I recently had the very same issue, after months of not using the Bluetooth connection, it disappeared from the HP Wireless Assistant (HPWA). Uninstalling/reinstalling the HPWA achieved nothing.
I will try another idea later tonight. But, it seems to me to be a hardware issue, i.e. that the integrated bluetooth device has failed.

Please let me know how you resolved it.

Never did get it fixed, haven't used it since and I brought it to the dealer who then told me I would have to send it to HP. I was going to get in touch with HP to see if they would send me a new bluetooth receiver seeing as how it is only unplug the old one and plug the new one in. Might do that now that I am talking about it again. Let me know if you figure anything out.
