My Canon MX700 printer worked fine with XP. Since upgrading to a new Gateway DX4831 with Windows 7 the printer will not work. I get the "Windows could not start the Spooler service on Local Computer" message and then an "Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified," message. I have also seen a message about not being able to make the connection.
The print spooler is set to automatic. I did restart it a couple of times to no avail. The last time I checked it it was running.
I installed the old
driver again, but was unable to find it anywhere. The printer is listed on the hardware list, but the fax or copy functions are not. I get the same messages listed above when I try to install the latest
driver from the Canon site.
I have seen a lot of this and that about this problem but no specific fixes.
Any ideas?
Thanks.....
