That is rather weird. I wonder if there are other tools besides the wei that can report about your system. What about in the task manager? Is it reporting the same thing?

ahhh thats very interesting
if you go into the resource monitor ive got
hardware reserved 131MB my only explaination is that this is used to run just the operating system, thus making a more stable version of windows.
it all figures out if you take that away from 4096mb (4GB) you get 3.87GB | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built ASUS P8Z68-V PRO OS Windows 7 Professional 64Bit SP1 CPU Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3Ghz @ 4.7Ghz Motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V PRO Memory 8GB Corsair Vengeance LP Graphics Card EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Superclocked 1280MB GDDR5 DX11 Sound Card creative soundblaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 7.1 optical in/out Monitor(s) Displays Dell 24" LED Screen Resolution 16:9 1920X1080 Keyboard logitech LX 710 multimedia wireless Mouse logitech LX 710 wirless laser PSU 700W Coolermaster Silent Pro Modular Case Coolermaster HAF Cooling Antec KHLER H20 620 Liquid Hard Drives Segate 1TB Segate 500GB Internet Speed 12mb Other Info 13 inch MacBook 2.1ghz

But as a practical matter, Microsoft sets different limits depending on the version of the OS. Memory Limits for Windows Releases (Windows)
Interesting quote: Quote: The maximum 2TB limit of 64-bit Windows Server 2008 Datacenter doesn't come from any implementation or hardware limitation, but Microsoft will only support configurations they can test. As of the release of Windows Server 2008, the largest system available anywhere was 2TB and so Windows caps its use of physical memory there. I had the same problem and for me worked this solution :
>Go to BIOS and enable "Memory Remap".> But can anyone tell me please, what have i done with that change? I just got "extra" 0,8 gb of ram, but i wonder if that affects on anything?

reply hmmm interesting, unfortunately i now only have the 32bit version of windows 7 on my macbook through bootcamp, as windows 7 completely messed up wen i put a new gpu in my gaming pc, and i had to put vista back on it. But i think that the ram issue is caused by the OS not your hardware. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built ASUS P8Z68-V PRO OS Windows 7 Professional 64Bit SP1 CPU Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3Ghz @ 4.7Ghz Motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V PRO Memory 8GB Corsair Vengeance LP Graphics Card EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Superclocked 1280MB GDDR5 DX11 Sound Card creative soundblaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 7.1 optical in/out Monitor(s) Displays Dell 24" LED Screen Resolution 16:9 1920X1080 Keyboard logitech LX 710 multimedia wireless Mouse logitech LX 710 wirless laser PSU 700W Coolermaster Silent Pro Modular Case Coolermaster HAF Cooling Antec KHLER H20 620 Liquid Hard Drives Segate 1TB Segate 500GB Internet Speed 12mb Other Info 13 inch MacBook 2.1ghz

it all figures out if you take that away from 4096mb (4GB) you get 3.87GB I don't know how much truth there is here, But I was told that windows 7 reserves some percentage of whatever amt of ram you have installed to use if your activities cause it to run low on ram.
