well it seems like there is no way to fix it
it works for 10 to 20 minutes and windows stops recognizing it just like before

i have decided to just buy a new one, anything you would recommend?
i was thinking of getting a wireless card rather than a adapter, what should i get?
could you recommend me a product that i could find in walmart, target, or best buy?

Well Walmart has a small selection, costs more, and doesn't tell you very much about the specs and compatibility.

    I recommend Newegg.com for hardware.

Here's a cheap one: Newegg.com - Rosewill RNX-G300LX IEEE 802.11b/g PCI Wireless Card Up to 54Mbps Data Rates 64/128-Bit WEP, 802.1x, WPA, WPA2, AES, TKIP with 2 dBi Antenna - Wireless Adapters

I have that card, and it works fine. Nothing fancy, but it works.

If you want a good one, with N support, here: Newegg.com - EDIMAX EW-7728In IEEE 802.11b/g, IEEE 802.11n Draft 32bit PCI Wireless 802.11n Draft 2.0 PCI Card Up to 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates WEP 64/128, WPA, WPA2 Cisco CCX V1.0, V2.0 & V3.0 Compliance - Wireless Adapters

If your router does not support N, you would be wasting your money to buy an N card, though.

There are two different things that might affect this as well.

For this device, there are two versions 1.0 and 2.0 Are you sure you have the right driver?

Heat. plain and simple if it is malfunctioning it might be heating up and dying (I had one of these things and it got hot)

You might also try plugging this into the computer with either a usbhub or a usb extension cord. Sometimes the computer wont reject it.

Ill go with this one seeing that i have a G router and not a N
does it come with windows 7 compatible drivers or do i need to download them?

    See here:

Windows Update maybe able to find the drivers automatically, but if it can't the driver CD they give you will have them.

Bad comes to very worst, we find them online.
