Windows 7: WUSB54GSC not responding on windows 7!

I have had this for 4 months, and suddenly it stopped working yesterday
It has worked perfectly since i have gotten it

It works for a few minutes, then i get a message saying the device is not recognized.
If i unplug and plug back in it starts working but again for a few minutes

I called linksys and they said its because its not compatible with windows 7, than why has it been working for 4 months? and why does windows website say its compatible?



i have no idea how to fix this and dont have money to buy a new adapter, please help!

You may want to try a System Restore to a point before yesterday. If it stops working again, be sure to let us know.

well i thought about doing that, but anyway to backup files before doing it?
i installed a game yesterday, and i dont want to reinstall it. (i know it has nothing to do with the game because i had been playing it for hours before the problem occurred)

i only had a restore point to the date the problem happened for some reason, nothing older
So i did a system restore and no lock
It still just stops recognizing the device after like 10 to 20 minutes

The longer i have the device not connected, the longer it works before it stops recognizing it
I have no idea what to do...

if i should buy a new adapter please suggest a good one that wont stop working 4 months later

Try uninstalling the drivers in Device Manager, rebooting, and letting Windows reinstall the drivers.

The litmus test to see if hardware is dying is test it in another machine.

Well i tried unstalling the drivers, i even used revo unstaller and unstalled on device manager, i restarted, and when i tried to install the drivers it told me that they were already installed.

I dont have the original CD with the drivers on it.
My adapter doesnt mention whether its Version 1 or version 2, so im assuming its Version 1.

But yes i tried reinstalling, but it kept telling me the drivers are already installed.
I even deleted the files from C: drive, weird.

Uninstall the program from Programs and Features, and also Device Manager. Make sure they are both uninstalled before rebooting.

well i unstalled both
rebooted
installed the drivers for version one
but the device itself looks automatically for drivers and it said it was unsuccessful in installing drives, but i installed the drives through linksys set up
It cant be wrong drives because i used these drivers before and it worked.

When i installed the drives using the drives i got off linksys, the device acted like no drives were installed
