I lost one of my hard drive when i installed windows 7

I've got almost the same problem, My Partition got lost when i installed windows 7, i can see it though at disk management and it dosen't have a letter, but i cant give it a letter eighter, i get a message saying "The operation failed to complete because the Disk management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer." i've tried this and stil dosen't work, ive tried all the other things said here too just not formated because i want the hard drive back with whats on it, work and school and movies.. Someone know what to do? I have also tried with partition master but dosent work, there the partition shows without a letter, but it failes to give it one

check all the connections to the drive - both at the motherboard and at the back of the drive itself

a loose connection or a faulty wire could be the problem..

Alrite mate, see how the system disk is on Disk 1. Try swapping the HDD's over so the system drive is Disk 0! Just a thought !
