Windows 7 - USB device shows up as CD rom device

| | USB device shows up as CD rom device I have been cruising the net trying to find a solution. Nothing yet, but eventually there will be a solution... I am running an HP Pavilion Laptop 64-bit PC. When I plugged in my 300 Gg Lacie external it came up as a CD Rom. Windows tells me that the device is working properly. In 'properties' I can see 2 device descriptions: disk drive and then USB storage device. When I try and choose the USB storage device, I cannot apply it nor can the selection stay as the designation. Defaults back to CD. Suggestions? |
