Canoscan LiDE 600F / Windows7 (64bit) - running "Windows XP Mode"

Hi

I have struggled LIKE CRAZY to get my Canoscan LiDE 600F to install correctly under Windows7 (x64) Pro, using the appropriate (but very out of date) 64bit drivers that Canon provide, I am now trying to install my scanner in the virtual PC "Windows XP Mode".

Although I successfully managed to install and print text files from my printer (Canon i865), my virtual PC in "Windows XP Mode" is failing to see the scanner.

Yes, I have installed all the latest Windows XP drivers (32bit).
Yes, the scanner can still be made to work - simply by plugging it into my laptop.
But the HECK can't it work in Windows XP Mode !

Any suggestions?
