    Corrupted IDE contoller.....PLEASE HELP

    HI there,

I wanted to see if everything was OK in device manger, so I click on it and the first thing that caught my attention was the STORAGE CONTROLLERS tab, it had a yellow exclamation mark similar to this one .
I immediately clicked on the "AWPDQ4RE IDE controller" tab, this was what it read....Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).

I have no idea what this is, but he Icon looks familiar.

Could anyone tell me what this is and what to do, it will be most appreciated.

An IDE Controller is a hard drive. Do you know how many drives you have in the PC? It might be a compatibility issue with the drive itself. The best way to fix this is when you boot the computer up get into the bios and set the IDE controller to compatibility mode. Let me know how it goes.

    Ok,

i have solved the problem, it was my virtual drive>daemon tools lite. i uninstalled DT lite, and the IDE cant pick the virtual drive up anymore. So what i did was reinstalled DT lite adn the exclamation mark is not more.
