What she said. Epson's printer head cleaning utility is on the epson software. Windows does not have a head cleaning utility.

You'll need to install the printer software for the printer. And it might be helpful if you told us what printer you have???

I have been having this same problem. I have a HP Officejet 5610. When I had XP, I could go to a place and it had the head cleaing, ink remaining, etc. I just thought that XP was providing this. My software is probably 4 or 5 years old. From what I understand, I need to go to the HP site and get Win7 software for it, is that correct?

This service is provided by the printer software itself. Yes, you'll have to go to the printer manufacturer's website and download the printer software which should include the remaining ink levels and well as the head cleaning utility. Some manufacturers require you to download seperate software for the ink level.

In short, these functions belong to the printer's software, not Windows.

I would actually suggest you check Epson's website to see if there are Windows 7 drivers available.
