yeah, it looks like dell is pushing a quad core to do that, but the ad is just too cramped

Dell is no worse than any other manufacturer out there. In my opinion, they put on far less garbage than HP.

IMHO Dell still offers very good value for money. Lets remember it is a very small percentage of the public who have any interest in building their own computer and even fewer who are capable of making a good job of it.

Dell wins with their customer support. At least with my experience. :)
