can not locate the inbuilt webcam since installing Win7

    Hey,

As the title suggests, I have recently installed Windows 7 on my Dell Inspiron laptop 1525 which originally running Vista O.S.

Now since the upgrade to Windows 7 which is a lot better, I am unable to find my webcam and use it, which is quite annoying.

I have seen a few other people have had similar problems and wondering if anyone could please help??

Look forward to responses and using my webcam :)

    Thanks,

    Scott M.

Hello Scott, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You will just need to install your webcam drivers for Windows 7 and you to be able to use it. All Dell has available at their driver download site for you laptop model are 32-bit Vista drivers, but they may work in the 32-bit Windows 7 as well. If the driver will not install, then you might see if installing them using Compatibility Mode with Vista SP2 selected may allow it to.

    At the Dell link below:
    • Look under Input Device Drivers for Laptop integrated webcam. (drivers)
    • Look under Applications for Dell Webcam Manager. (software)
    Drivers & Downloads

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Hey,

Thanks for your quick reply :)

When going to this page and click download i get the error message "There are no files to download. Please go to Drivers and Downloads to select file(s)" when opening this.

I am using Windows 7 32 bit Ultimate.

    Any other thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Scott

The above is for only the Dell Webcam Manager. You will also need to download and install the Laptop integrated webcam drivers. Here's the direct download link from HP for it.

Have you managed to solve your problem with the webcam? Is it now functioning correctly?
