My experiance with AC5
Well my laptop is a Aser Extensa 5620z, the one in my specs. recently the temperature got to 88C just running the 2 cores at ~50%.
So today I opened it up and cleaned out the heatsink/heatpipe and changed the thermal compund. THe junk that was on there was silicone based that just lieraly culked, and to make it worse it was on the entire chip not just the die!!
After replasing with Arctic Silver 5 my laptop is running both processors at 50% keeps em nice and cool at ~56C.
So are there any other sucess stories out there with Arctic Silver 5?

I do periodically open-up all my PC/notebook to clean up, and i use normal grease based heatsink compound from electronic spare parts shop for general electronic service, so far so good, the technique is to apply it as thin as possible and evenly on both surface, otherwise it will create heat transfer resistance. Anyway, I would like to hear how great is AC5.

well cinse ac5 is 99.9% silver there is a higher thermal conductivity vs silicone compound.
This is because silicone is a metlaloid, while silver is a metal. Using chemistry we know that metals conuct heat(and electricity) the bes compared to metalloids(semi-metals)
other than the cemistry related knowledge, AC5 is great because it is suposed to work at the molecular level to fill in all the inperfections of a cpu die and the heat sink.
curently I am running Primegrid 100% on both cores and the temp has not gone beyond 68C.
