    Cannot print from Guest Account

I have 5 PC's set up, all identical HP builds. All are running Win 7 Home Premium. On one of them, I cannot print from the guest account. I can print just fine from the Admin account.

The printer is an HP 1505N networked printer.

I have checked the Security tab & permissions -- Everyone is set to PRINT. The printer shows up in the list, but you cannot print to it (the print button is greyed out).

    I tried removing and reinstalling.

If I go to troubleshoot the printer, I get "An error occured while troubleshooting."

The only AV/Firewall program running Is Microsoft Security Essentials.

Again, this is only one 1 of the 5 PC's. Please help!

Install the printer again on the admin account (then set to "default"). Usually problems are due to driver installations on standard user accounts.

I tried this. I removed it, and added it again on the Admin account, and it is set to default. You can see the checkmark in the screenshot.

my bad, didn't see the screens until now. Ok, i see the error as well when you click on "troubleshoot printer", but do you get any errors when attempting to "print"? or does it just hang?

you said it's a "network" printer, where is it shared from?

you cannot even click print -- its greyed out (see screenshot).

Its a network printer -- not shared from anywhere. The printer is directly hooked up to the network via ethernet. Again, can print fine from admin account and the guest account on the other 4 PC's.

I can get to the 'embedded web server' by typing in the IP address in an internet browser. Its not that it can't find the printer -- something messed up I think with a permission somewhere is what I'm thinking.

The "Everyone" group is suposed to be a catch all. However, by default there is usually a "localcomputer\Users" group in the ACL that I don't see in the screen shot. You may want to add that group to the ACL and give it print rights for a test.

Edit: if that fails, just add his user account into the ACL and give print rights. That will tell us if it's truly a permissions issue or not.

ps. why have admin and administrators in the same acl?

I also tried adding "Guest" and then giving that user Print permissions. still no fix. The admin and administrators was just there, I didn't specifically change that.

Well the guest account makes sense. they don't have access to the spooler service. you can add the guest account with proper privileges to the spooler folder, %system%\system32\spooler... OR it could be due to the driver file/folder not having any rights for the guest account as well.
