    Buying a new Monitor

I am in the market for a new Monitor. These are my options I am looking at thus far.

    Newegg.com - Acer P235Hbmid Black 23" 5ms HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 50000:1(ACM) Built-in Speakers - LCD Monitors

I like the Hans-G. But I am just concerned that the constrast Ratio is 15000:1 compared to the 50000:1 Acer or whopping 70000:1 of that samsung.

Opinions anyone? Is there anything that is a strong selling point of either that I should be looking at?

I've got a similar monitor to that on my system and it's been fine. I paid about $170 for mine..so happy with it for the price. It won't compare to a Dell UltraSharp U2410...but that monitor is about $550 from Dell right now...but it's the monitor I recommend for people who really care to have a beautiful display.

Check this page (possibly every day). They always list the daily specials of all kinds of companies.

I've only ever used or thought about buying Samsung, LG, and Acer. What else Brandwise should I be considering?

Hanns are also supposed to be good. And I have 2 HP2207 - they are great (but expensive). But in the tests, Samsung always comes out on top.

On the page I linked above, the same Hanns at NewEgg is listed for $159.99 (with coupon). I suggest you get it with the coupon. Saves 30 bucks.
PS: I would not worry about the contrast ratio. You would not notice the difference - unless you are an eagle.
