Windows 7: BOOTMGR is corrupt

OK I'm pretty sure this has been posted before but I'm going to do it again.

Alright, I have a new build
motherboard - ecs a780gm-a black edition
Ram - 4GB G.Skill PC6400
HDD - Seagate 320GB
cooling - stock
OS - Windows 7 Pro
processor - AMD phenom X3 8750 toliman 2.4GHZ


OK so here's the problem. I get home from spring break and turn my system on and get the message "BOOTMGR image is corrupt. System cannot boot". I was like WTF? I tried changing boot orders of devices, that didn't work. I tried putting in my windows disc and trying to use the recovery console. That didn't work either. After I hit enter to boot from the Cd it goes to a windows error screen and tells me about using the recovery console or booting into windows blah, and when you press enter it restarts and after it boots from the CD it goes back to the same error screen again. It says something about windows cannot verify the digital signature and gives me the error code:0xc0000428. I hit F8 trying to get the recovery console, I used the Cd which only takes me to that screen and wont let me do anything else but hit enter which restarts the system. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I should do since I cannot get into the recovery console?

In Googling your error code: error code:0xc0000428, I got several hits regarding "digital signature" issues.

However you say: "I tried changing boot orders of devices" (but you only show one 320GB hard drive?) so you may have caused this error attempting to fix the "BOOTMGR image is corrupt"? I get different hits for that including the possibility of hard drive failure.

It was suggested booting with the DVD or CD and using the command prompt option and bootrec /fixmbr or bootrec /fixboot

If this is not successful, you should go the the manufacturer's web site of the hard drive and download their utility and check your drive with it for problems.

I can't get into the windows recovery console. when I put my disk in to do so, all it does it so go windows recovery console error screen telling me about the recovery console and about the digital signature issue. all it allows me to do is press enter. I hit any other key and nothing happens. When enter is hit it just reboots the system and brings me back to that page. I had seen all those solutions you listed before. Most of them require the recovery console or being inside windows and I cannot do either. I even tried using a knoppix live disk but all it does is just get hung up and stays on a black screen.

Perhaps if you reboot, open the BIOS menu, and set the DVD Drive as first in boot order (or priority) you will be allowed to boot to your media (DVD and /or CD) and run the utilities suggested?
