Windows 7: Game Controller

Game Controller

I build my own joystick, rudder pedals, and throttle controllers.
How come at every boot the center points and end points shift around a little? I use DXTweak 2, to set the points and they will not stay consistant.

I've never heard of using DX Tweak 2 with a homemade stick... do you mean the center and end points of your X and Y ranges? I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that DX Tweak 2 was designed for Windows XP and hasn't been updated for Vista/7.

It actually works OK, it just will not allow me to save a profile, app crashes. The settings would not stay in XP Pro either. I could save a profile there.

That sounds contradictory... did you mean you couldn't save a profile there? (in XP Pro?) Also, was XP Pro 32- or 64-bit?

I use DXTweak 2 64 bit with Windows 7. It crashes trying to save a profile, i just leave it up minimized. Works great, maintains dead spot for center point.
I used DXTweak2 32bit with XP Pro. I could save profiles but it would drop the center point dead spot because of something to do with XP and DX 9.

Either way, what the OS would read from the stick, changed every boot, so I was always adjusting at every boot. I was just wondering why.
