Automatic Device Installation - Im Pulling My Hair out!
Ok, I know I haven't been here for a while but you know how life is. You get busy, you forget things then you get bored and come back. Anyways, I'm having this really clumsy problem. Not a bug, just a real hard ass one. Ok so I'm pretty sure everyone has experienced most of what I'm about to tell you about in your usual device driver installation yada yada yo. But what I'm talking about here is specific. That instance in which you plug a device, Windows runs ahead of everything else, jumps in and throws its generic driver right into my face before I can do anything. Yeah, That's my problem.
Basically, I've got a GIGABYTE EP45-UD3R and it comes with its own crappy p.o.s. audio chip (I'm an audiophile). However, since I just accused the chip of murder, I do sport a Creative X-Fi PFCS that works splendidly ONLY when I disable and uninstall the Internal Audio card drivers from the Device Manager. Obviously, they conflict. Also, I really don't give a rats ass whether the internal audio card works or not. So basically, everytime I reboot, I have to do that over and over again. It's really killing me.
SevenForums, please help me. How the heck do I turn off Windows 7's automatic device driver install. I've already tried this:
How To Disable Automatic Driver Installation In Windows 7 / Vista
And that does not work. It seems to be focused on the web aspect of what I'm saying (Aka, If it does not find the drivers locally and install em automatically like it usually does, this kicks in to try to find the driver online which I have already disabled).
